Re: More European Union

When you think about it, we the electorate are just as much to blame. There are alternatives to the three major parties, but we always seem to vote 'Tory, Labour or Lib Dems'.
I have always been a Conservative voter, but at the last election I had all intentions of voting for UKIP. When at the ballot box I changed my mind and voted Tory again, just to get Labour out! And low and behold, we have EXACTLY the same as we did under Labour for 13 years...if not worse!!!
What happened to the policies of 'five years in prison for carrying a knife', 'replacing the Human Rights Act for a new Bill of Rights', 'getting our laws back from the EU', to name but a few?
I feel ashamed and embarrassed that I am partly to blame for electing another party of liars and traitors that don't give a sod about what we, the hard working British public think.
The only way to get this country back on it's feet is to cease our membership of the European Union, in my opinion. I am a self employed painter and decorator, and my business has suffered immensly with the influx of Eastern Europeans.
Just think about it, withdraw from the EU and we could: save £45 million pounds a day, send the Eastern Europeans home to free up the job market, get the lazy and feckless to undertake those jobs, rip up the Human Rights Act, bring back capital punishment for murderers and terrorists, get Law and Order back on it's feet, and return to pounds and ounces!!! Sounds great, doesn't it?!!!
I don't know if people are aware of this, but do you know that we still had capital punishment in the UK for 'treason' up until Labour came to power in 1997? Tony Blair took this away because the EU didn't want capital punishment for any member states. Why wern't WE ever asked? Just think, Abu Hamza, Omar Bakri, Anjem Choudary, and the extremists who were burning poppies on Rememberance Day could have been hung for treason!
Thanks to the EU, our own polititians, and us the electorate... There's no great in Britain anymore.

Re: More European Union

okay...prison ruins a mans life forever...only the good and decent are penalised in prison...they serve no useful purpose.  better to treat a man with civility and decency, get him to do community work, paid but work all the same, no show he gets in ever increasing trouble.  This would escalate into a custodial sentence but a much more severe process...

Agree with the death penalty, there has to be a point where we say no more, you are not going to integrate so go away...perhaps we can send them as colonists to the moon, it seems to have done Ausrtralia a good turn, well they keep beating us at sport thats for sure...

The do gooders in the Uk have destroyed Law and Order....those who would have us travel at 30 mph all the time, and even 20 mph...when it is ludicrous to do so...it puts most people into conflict with the police...and we then see how basic, intellectually challenged and foolish the Police can actually be.  The police need to be re focused onto real crime, not on accidental crime to do with driving offences...we know it can be dangerous but for heavens sake, its a tiny proportion of the population and we all have to die at some time...

If labour had been kept in this country was going to die, the Unions had already planned a massive assault on them to get their own way...crazy when you think haw indebted the country is, and its not just the bankers who have caused this...

The lib dems are good people, they just need a harder task master and I think Cameron is the man to do that...he is already showing them the way...dont listen to the idiots in the press who will do anything and I mean anything to cause a scandal...but its all in the interests of the public and freedom of the press..twaddle, its mostly jumped up lies...theer used to be an American law against entrapment...ie enticing someone to commit a crime...this seems to be the papers way of doing things these days...if someone offers you massive amounts of money we will all crack at some point...

Am with you on the treason thing but thats just more reason to have gotten rid of Labour.  But hanging will not eradicate murder and mayhem...

UKIP too focused on destruction right now and that the EU is the root of all evil.  I am sure it is not but it isnt a nice place at the moment and wont be until we have a truly united union of Europe, the United states of Europe is the way to go...I think it would make this region then magnificent, english would have to be the main language and then we would see this region explode in terms of prosperity...it is a hard pill to swallow for such a great nation that has pioneered so much to civilised life, but we have to recognise that unity is the future not separatism...

So i think you were right to vote tory, just give them chance to recover what had become a very very bad situation mostly caused by labour but also caused by others such as bankers and institutions who should know better but have lost their way...police, NHS, councils and councillors, etc..

Apparently the financial affairs of the European Parliament have not been audited for years.   So they have not been held to account for the billions they spend.

Can we not therefore withdraw any EU contribution from Britain until their accounts have been verified by independant auditors??

No Poalo your little "New world order" at our expense won't work I am afraid. The EU, the monster it is, is dragging us further down under, down the socialist path of broke and inflation and low job wages and for what???We have now lost our sovereignty to a disastrous EU socialist economy whereby jobs are now cheapened due to  mass migration and everyone coming into the UK to take our jobs!! Is this what we, the decent, hard working, law abiding British people voted for- NO!! I will next vote UKIP !! I think Paolo is probably one of those european migrants who relies soley on the EU to come here and take our jobs. They are going to inflate everything and keep us down as we are just the monopoly that they do not care about but can manipulate to our expense. This is in line with the Jesuit-Vatican New world order.

Re: European Union

It doesn't matter who anyone voted for because the government was always going to be voted in...........and they all wore the same school tie...........go figure!!

We should be given a referendum on our EU membership as the Tories and in particular Mr Cameron said we would. Why did you change your mind David.....oh yes that naughty young chap Clegg said he wouldn't play ball on that one so in order to get his agreement on the coalition you let him have his way...so sad, so very very sad.

As for Clegg and his lot they're the most duplicitous shower I've ever seen. Won't vote for them ever again.

What is this country coming to?

Paul

Our soldiers are in Germany as a hangover from WWII, but there is much more room for training there and they are not driving tanks over Cameron voters gardens in the process.  Anyway they are on their way home but hey! there are not enough decent quarters for the soldiers already here.  Maybe this is why Fox is firing 7000 of them.

Re: More European Union

We will never get a referndum on Europe because politicians will and have always set themselves above the very people who voted and put them into power.
Once they get the vote they do what they want with their own agenda, then tell us that they know best and were voted into power to make these decisions on our part.....

So don't expect politicians to listen to your opinions and do not expect a referndum....

You just are not going to get it!

I would like to see a total withdrawal from the fiasco called the EU, in my view it was the worst days work that was ever done when we entered the money pit, however don’t hold your breath! There are far too many EMPs dipping their bread right up to the elbow for that to happen any time soon, let’s face it no matter what political persuasion they nail their colours to it is too much of a nice little earner for them to get off the Gravy train before the terminal!

Re: More European Union

When will we see the British get out on the streets and DO SOMETHING instead of writing on here ..... Cameron ain't listening.....
We British are a Lame lot compare to the Egyptians that have Balls of Steel and forcing change.....
As a nation we are allowing the political elite give our country, freedoms and even our sense of humour away to satisfy the Brussel bureaucrats......

It's time we stood up for the British way of life, our sense of humour, what our forefathers died and suffered in two workday Wars for or are we just going to leave Cameron, Blair, Clegg to give it all away for those in the EU that our forefathers Liberated from Nazi Germany........ we need to claim our country back and get the jobs back for all those millions already in our country that are being forced out of work and thrown on to benefits......

If the Egyptians can stand up to a Powerful Dictator, why the Hell are we not standing up to Cameron and Clegg who are make decision on our behalf that were never part of their manifesto on which well all cast our vote....... I voted Lib Dem for my sins as a protest against Labour and we got this Con/Dem unelected lot.

It's time to waken up from our slumber and safe our country from Cameron and Clegg before they cast us all back into the dark ages!

It would be great to see if our troops that always gets the public support no matter what wars the have been involved in...... would they turn on the public that backed them....

Most likely they would!

Let's honest Cameron you are never going to keep your promise on a Referendum on the EU!

You like Clegg sold out on the very people that voted for you on the policies and promises you both made on the lead up to the election......

You have both Sold Out on your voters for your 15mins of Fame!

Your days are numbered and God willing you will be out of office and back on the oppistion benches where you belong....... that said its Goodbye to the Lib Dem party..... I changed from Labour 5 yrs ago because of an Illegal War and thought your party would deliver better but you sold out Clegg! Now watch your party disappear you Sir are the worst by far out the three main party's......
Cameron and Blair are Crooks and we knew what to expect from them but you Sir your party were hope for so many....... you failed us all.

Re: European Union

In reply to this post by June Hendra
June, you have not said a truer word. I have lived on mainland europe for a great deal of my life and believe me the Germans and French are out there to milk Europe for all THEY can get. Every year there was a massive give away of meat, milk and butter, among other things, Free to pensioners. This got the various costly mountains down. No problem we said as we assisted in the distribution of it. However little did we realise it was not shared around europe. It is about time someone one stood up and said enough is enough and as far as we are concerned BRITAIN comes first. There are more countries in this world we could trade with at a lot less cost than the money wasting Europe.

Re: More European Union

In reply to this post by Barry Exit
i've read that partly due to the Express's campaign on a EU referendum
that Parliament is expected to vote next week on a senior Conservative's (Peter Bone) proposal to require the holding of a binding referendum on Britain’s EU membership.......maybe we are getting closer to our promised referendum........Whereas we know Cameron will not listen to the people, he will have to listen to his M.P's if enough of them vote in favour of a referendum......eupledge.com too are in the process of lobbying M.P's and have gained a lot of support..........I for one won't give in and start to believe that we are in EU 'forever'......it doesn't bear thinking about....so I think positive and believe that leaving the EU will (eventually) happen.........believe!!
